Introduction to Substation Isolation Switches

·(1) Before operation, check the opening and closing positions of the Circuit Breaker to prevent accidental closing of the isolation switch with load. Do not open the isolation switch again.

·(2) Manually close quickly and decisively, without excessive force;

·(3) Quickly open the isolation switch to extinguish the arc as soon as possible;

·(4) Misclosing the isolation switch with load, do not open the isolation switch again. If the isolation switch is pulled incorrectly, the blade should be immediately closed as soon as it leaves the fixed contact. If the isolation switch blade has left the fixed contact, the mistakenly pulled isolation switch must not be closed again.

·(5) After the closing operation, check whether the contact is tight; After the tripping operation, it should be checked whether each phase is in the disconnected position;

·(6) During operation, the guardian should stand slightly away and focus on observing whether the ceramic pillar of the knife switch has fallen off.

·(7) After the operation is completed, lock the operating handle.

·(8) Before closing the knife switch, try closing it first and observe the two contacts of the knife switch.

1. Regularly measure the temperature of each contact point of the knife switch, increase the frequency of special inspections during holidays and high loads, and keep infrared spectrum photos for inspection.

2. During acceptance, the focus is on checking whether the knife switch has the same period, insertion depth, and good contact of the contacts. Whether the opening and closing operations are flexible (including the ground knife), and whether the mechanical locking between the knife switch and the ground knife is reliable. If there is an electrical interlock, conduct a test on the electrical interlock.

3. Regularly inspect the ceramic pillar of the knife switch for cracks, screens, and other knife switch positions to prevent voltage loss and protection.

4. The scissor type knife switch with vertical opening and closing needs to confirm whether the connecting arm has passed the dead point after closing, and the angle should be slightly greater than 180 degrees.

5. The electrically operated knife switch should have the mechanism box door reliably closed after operation and checked during inspection. Especially in the spring and autumn seasons, the focus is on the iron ceramic joint. Utilize telescopes, telephoto digital cameras, mirror reflection methods, needle punching methods, etc.
