A must-have for beginners: Definition, Principle, Structure, and Application of Transformers
1、 Overview of Transformers
The transformer adopts high-quality materials and advanced process technology to professionally produce transformers with power ranging from 1KVA to 1500KVA. The various inputs and outputs, voltage levels, connection groups, tap positions, winding capacity allocation, secondary winding configuration, and whether a chassis is required for the product are carefully designed and manufactured according to user requirements. Transformers are classified by type: autotransformer, isolation type, step-down type, step-up type, and variable phase type; Variable form: Input three-phase/output single-phase.
2、 Transformer principle
Transformers are based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, in which the primary and secondary windings are placed on a common iron core and coupled with each other through magnetic and electrical circuits to achieve energy transfer from the primary winding to the secondary winding.

3、 Transformer structure
1. Iron core: High quality cold-rolled grain oriented silicon steel sheets are used, and the iron core silicon steel sheets adopt 45 degree fully oblique joints to allow magnetic flux to pass along the direction of the silicon steel sheet joints.
2. Winding: There are several types: (1) winding type, (2) epoxy resin and quartz sand filling casting, (3) glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin casting (i.e. thin insulation structure), and (4) multi strand glass fiber impregnated epoxy resin winding type (generally 3 is commonly used because it can effectively prevent resin cracking during casting and improve equipment reliability).
3. High voltage winding: generally adopts a multi-layer cylindrical or multi-layer segmented structure.
4. Low voltage winding: generally adopts a layered or foil structure.
5. Box: The box is mainly composed of a box and panel indicators (voltage/current indicators), movable rollers, and other parts.
4、 Applicable places
Suitable for various places that require voltage level changes or safety isolation. (Example: Widely used in places such as subways, high-rise buildings, airports, stations, factories, imported equipment, docks, industrial and mining enterprises, and tunnels for power transmission and distribution).
Through the introduction in this article, I believe you have a basic understanding of the concept of transformers, working principle, I have gained a more comprehensive understanding of the structure, composition, and applicable locations. In the future development of electricity, transformers will continue to play a crucial role in The safe and stable operation of the power system provides strong guarantees.
